The Nebo School District sponsored a Christmas card contest. Junior high students were asked to design a Christmas card that would be sent to district employees and stakeholders. Ms. Mag's Drawing students participated in the contest. Shelbee's design won 3rd place! Congratulations, Shelbee!

Forced perspective is a technique which uses optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. It is used primarily in photography, filmmaking and architecture. Congratulations to Bree J, Darby M, and McKenzie G for having their artwork selected to be part of the "Christmas Lamb" exhibition at the Springville Museum of Art! Their art pieces were selected from over 400 submissions from students in Utah County. Bree's sculpture was even an award winner! Ladies, we are honored to have your artwork represent our school! Student artwork in the "Christmas Lamb" exhibition will be showcased at the museum during December. Visiting the museum and viewing the artwork is a great activity for the whole family. Admission to the museum is free. Check www.smofa.org for museum hours.
Students in Art Foundations 1 are learning all about color--how to use primary colors to mix secondary and intermediate colors, as well as mixing tints, tones and shades. They are using analogous colors to create paintings that look as though they've been shattered. |
