Meet Ms. Magnusson
Ms. Magnusson has always loved to draw and create.
She is a native of southern California and took all the art classes she could in junior high and high school. She studied art at BYU-Idaho and graduated with a degree in Art Education. In 2006, she began her teaching career at a high school in central Las Vegas.
She moved to Utah in 2013 to pursue a master's degree at BYU and was thrilled to join the Spartans at Salem Junior High. At SaJHS, Ms. Mag can be found assisting with 4H clubs, teaching after-school art classes, or painting the sets for the school musical.
She recently enjoyed traveling to Guatemala on a humanitarian expedition, where she volunteered at schools in rural, impoverished villages. She taught curriculum classes to local teachers and goal-setting workshops and art classes to elementary and junior high children.
When Ms. Mag is not grading projects or writing a master's thesis, she enjoys biking, camping, making the perfect smoothie, and wandering through thrift stores.
